No it is not wierd, but it is dangerous. I had a friend who met a doctor who lives in the Carolina's. He even flew out to her state to meet her, they got engaged, set the wedding date. Then 2 weeks later (she even had an engagement ring) she found out he was married. You can findout all background info if you only get his Social Security number. It is GOOD to do background checks on meeting people this way. Plus make sure he has had a recent AIDS test.

You have no idea what kind of history background this man has !
He could be of a different age, it's just NOT safe these days to meet a gut on the net!

I think any way you meet a person is inherently valid even if it is non-traditional. If you meet this Tony and it works out then more power to you.

i think it's stupid to like someone over the internet....it's not very safe. Ihave a friend who talked to someone for over 2 years on the internet....2 years! he said he was only 18. so she thought she knew him well enough to visit him. So she invited him to come visit her here. Turns out he was a stalker, he was 48, and he tried to get her in his car. but luckily, she got awaysafely. she wasn't stupid enough to get into the car.
But...it's different if you knew him personally before or something like that.that changes everything.
