I'm sorry you've been through so much. I'm glad things have lifted up lately. This is what's worked for me: 1. Having a daily routine that included exercise and time being around other people.(Self confidence) 2. Journal writing (when you keep track of your own symptoms you'll see what has been going on that makes you feel more normal - what works for me may not do a thing to help you) 3. Appreciating life. I thought my problems were bad - until I lost someone close to me. 4. You will not always feel bad, but when it happens you'll know what to do (ref your journal). So therefore YOU ARE NOT DOOMED. Chemically, some people have to spend time working on their emotions. It is a health issue -- just like a diabetic has to watch their diet for the rest of their lives, you may have to assess your emotions and control them.

Just remeber it's the Holidays and they are almost over! Everyone is more stressed and depressd during the holildays and it is normal! You have finacial resons, as well as family relatinships to be concerned about, most people even stress if the gift they bought for so and so and so and so is good enough or if they will like it. Just relax and tell yourself the esence is at ease and this too shall pass. Get a book called living with depression, learn all you can about it, see a therapist they may be able to help you understand your depression so that you are able to better handle it or maybe even control it.Talk to your Dr. if you haven't already. Good Luck!

I guess that all depends on what you have tried already, how long you have been depressed and what is causing the depression. What you may need could range from a night out with your best friends to regular visits with a therapist and meds. If I knew more about your situation I could give you more feedback. Feel free to e-mail me.

This is going to require a multi-tiered approach.
First, enroll in a low-impact fitness regimen.
Start taking multivitamin supplements and St. John's Wort.
Make sure you're getting enough sleep.
You should begin to feel better within 3 to 4 days.
I would stay away from prescribed anti-depressants.
Typically, these will highten your depression.
Be well.

My suggestion to you is this, when you feel depression "coming on you", then get up and "shake it off" . If you really want to get serious, then simply tell that "feeling of depression" to go back to where it came from!

Have you ever wondered that a force greater than yourself put you here on this earth with a perfect structure of bones joined to muscles to tendons to skin to endless miles of veins and arteries. Now how can you say that this is by chance, The creator is almost like you, and how you create your life is analagous to how he created everyone with similar features and for the ability for them to heal when wounded. Let me tell you that your mind, whatever shape it's in has a way to heal itself without any substance if you would just accept Jesus christ as Savior. It is just that simple. Accept first, then watch the supernatural unfold. You don't need to even join any religous sect. You will begin to stop cycling negative thoughts that is destructive and will gain insight on everything good to rebuild your spirit.

Life is totally absurd and meaningless. Man is faced with this meaninglessness and he has three choices

a) To take a leap of faith - believe in God and find a meaning and activities there

b) To commit suicide

c) To revolt against this meaninglessness - to create meaning for yourself. Live in the moment. Act out your passions - without any hope of redemption.
