The masses will revolt when the pain of not changing becomes greater than the pain of change... hopefully that will occur before all of our freedoms are lost

We are revolting now. Our numbers are growing but the media still has the money to keep us off the air. Social movements are getting bigger and more powerful every day and we are getting results (although many are in denial and like to dismiss us as idealistic hippies). Idealists = Ideas.
I won't bring up the countless examples but suffice to say that laws all over the world have been changed because of masses revolting. It is unfortunate that other movements advocating pumping mindless propaganda into the heads of children and adults are also growing everyday (i.e. sexist or otherwise prejudicial policies and education, mindless and violent entertainment, fashion etc) but the human spirit will prevail in the end.
Turn off the TV and join a peace movement. Shrug it off when someone calls you a hippie (they'll always hate you when you break the mould). Stop worrying about your weight and your makeup. Try sewing a skirt instead of buying one. Refuse to accept sexist jokes. There: you've started a revolution. Along with millions of others EVERY SINGLE DAY.

"The poor are revolting? Well of course they are!"--Mel Brooks "The History of the World Part I"

Come on. We live in a republic in the US. Mass revolutions most often occur in democracies (see Plato) while republics become emipires or fall to tyrants. That will not happen until term limits for the president are revoked and the executive branch is allowed to dismember the legislative and judicial branches.

You and I both know that this will not happen.

Get a clue and have an orginal thought for once!

The masses have always been revolting

The masses aren't going to revolt. Not unless the government takes away their marijuana, meth, beer, and TVs (and maybe food stamps). The masses are fully content to pursue their hedonist lifestyles. Don't give them any responsibilities, and don't expect honor, integrity, or a sense of duty from them. No wonder this country is going to hell in a hand basket.

As soon as the government does something to warrant a revolt.

I believe it is next Friday at 4 p.m. (or is that when Oprah is on television?)

Well, it is a revolting situation in either case.

The masses can't even get off their couches to vote... they certainly are not going to revolt any time in the foreseeable future.

A week next Tuesday outside the Nag's Head in Fulham. But if the masses fail to materialise we'll be in the Nag's Head having a pint instead.

Power to the People....if it's ok with you?
