To be honest, I think lots of them never had it to begin with.

I'm lucky in that I know a few who actually act in accordance to the precepts of their religion.

Anyone who does that is a rare jewel to find, and should be treated as presciously.

You are right about the force thing, there is no compulsion or force in religion. That is why we have a free will,we can decide whether we go to hell or paradise. And concerning the Christians losing the true meaning of Christianity,Jesus himself was not a Christian,he was a believer, there was no such word in existence at the time.If the Christian want to be Christ like, then they should believe as Christ believed,he is the one who said that he did not come to refute or destroy what Moses came with, but to add to the message which happens to be consistent with the message of the earlier prophets, belief in the one creator, angels, hell, paradise and also to reveal the criterion for us to live by.Regarding the people sending others to hell with their tongues,no one has the right to judge or condem anybody to hell, the creator owns hell and heaven, and all that is between, and he will dispose of everybody according to his judgment on the last day.

I have to agree and I'm a christian. I think if your coming in here, and asking not to hear this kind of stuff is an unreasonable expectation but in everyday life, I can understand. I wouldn't want a muslim, every time I saw him/her condemning me to hell. For non christians, I think it would be beneficial to know that christians are told in the Bible to share their faith. Many times we lack the charisma of the execution of that. I do know that it will never be God's condemnation that draws folks too Himself but His love and mercy. I wish more christians would realize that nonchristians are people too with feelings. I think coming into an environment like this, that is so hostile towards Christ (not just christians, but Christ Himself) is a challenge. I don't mind at all if a nonchristian tells me I'm wrong. He/she is free to do so, but it goes through me when someone attacks Christ. I love Him and I get protective of Him as I would if a friend were attacked. This, I realize, makes little sense because Christ can stand on His own. He's aware of how unbelievers think of Him and my puny "stand" to protect Him is like a fly trying to protect a person from being called names by another fly. I am a human being that is imperfect however, and I do have emotions and sometimes they get the better of me. So I'm sorry if I have ever said anything hurtful to you. I hope I can share the LOVE of God to an unbelieving world.

As a Christian, I whole-heartedly agree! Many of us are judgmental about others, yet competely ignorant of our own faults. That is not true Christianity.

The Bible does call us to spread the good news, though. This is the motivation behind the action for most of us. It's just that we screw up the process more times than we get it right.

We are called first to love, not to judge. I wish more of us Christians would apply this to our lives, and maybe we wouldn't have such a bad reputation among non-Christians.

The true meaning of Christianity is the believing that Jesus is the savior of the world. Not everyone wants to be saved and God won't force anyone to believe and be saved. But no one can say that they didn't hear about the consequences of rejecting Jesus Christ when they face God on the judgement day. In fact, those who believe in him can only do so if they came to the knowledge that sin is exceedingly sinful and that they deserved to die for their sin but that Jesus Christ died for them.

Indeed. I wonder if they realize what poor examples they make when they're ridiculing us and telling us about how we're going to burn in hell for all eternity if we don't believe that Jesus loves us. I also wonder if they realize how many potential new Xians they'v chased away with their hate, fear mongering, and intolerance. You'd think that having once been persecuted by the majority they would be less likely to do it to others now that the're in the majority.

My dog wasn't feeling well, so I took him to the veterinarian. The vet prescribed a dose of cod-liver oil every 2 hours. When I tried to give my dog the first dose, the battle was on! Finally, I managed to get the cod-liver oil inside him. Two hours later, the battle was on again. During the struggle, the bottle of cod-liver oil was knocked over, and cod-liver oil spilled all over the floor. I went to get a mop, and when I returned, there was my dog, licking up the spilled cod-liver oil off the floor.

It wasn't that my dog didn't like cod-liver oil; he just didn't want it forced down his throat.

The loudest ones are the extremists, there are many of us who live quiet lives and dont run around telling peeople they are going to hell, as it is not our place to do so.

Some Christians feel it's their job to evangelise the world. They get points for it or something.
