Let's face it; the similarities between Anakin Skywalker and Jesus are almost uncanny... Both born unto a virgin, both saved the universe in their own little way, both had sons who got their hands chopped off, both hold annual conventions (Star Wars conventions = Church). It's almost creepy. Was George Lucas trying to promote Christianity through children by exploiting a story that has been told for the past 2000 years?

Jesus had a son who got his hand chopped off? Really?

However I have noticed the religious aspect of Star Wars. The Jedi was a mystical priesthood. They call their god The Force. The Jedi were not allowed to marry or have families. They were supposed to let go of all emotional attachments to property and people so they could allow the Force to work its will through them. Reminds me of the Catholic priesthood. There were also the evil demonic Sith to give the Jedi somebody to fight with.

In the beyond I was once a die rough Star Wars fan. Had all of the toys, and so on. I was once very occupied with fitting like him to a couple measure. He is an overly ingenious man or woman and has satisfactory suggestions. You will have to investigate out a few of his "lesser" understand movies.. As for the Star wars films on the whole, The first one (episode four) will constantly be my favourite. Uncut, Unedited, or what's understand because the "theatrical ver". When Lucas movie began "including" additional scenes, and growing virtual characters. I misplaced curiosity. btw.. Mr lucas, is not completed.. but.. But I doubt I will move see whatever he'll present. Just appear for episode 7,eight and nine

First of all... Jesus had a son? umm... I don't think so.

Secondly, yes, there are some similarities to Christianity in Star Wars, but as a whole it is based more on Buddhism (i.e. the Force = Chi)

No. I think the paralells are just a lack of creativity--Lucas couldn't find a better way to make Anakin 'the one'.

No, he was using the same mythic formulas that have been around for thousands of years to write his story. He was good friends with Joseph Cambell who wrote a lot about the history of myth and religion.

No, the star wars religion is based on eastern philosophy. Hindu, Buddhist and I think even a lil' Sihk. I could be wrong about Sihk though.
