years ago i read this in the bible but cant remember wear in the book,, something about drinking to forget your debts,, where is that,, i first saw it in ann landers column because somebody asked and she pointed to where in the bible it was and i looked it up and there it was, but now i cant remember

How about Proverbs 31:6-7?

Give strong drink to one who is perishing,
and wine to the sorely depressed;
When they drink, they will forget their misery,
and think no more of their burdens.
