Actually, yes. A study just completed suggests that there are physical symptoms which come with having a "broken heart." Although, these symptoms might also be attributed to the stress and depression which come with this condition as well. You might experience an almost literal physical pain centered in the chest, other areas of your body might ache like you have the flu, you might sleep a lot, or have a rapid heartbeat, sweaty palms, and feel hot (almost like you are blushing) which are some side effects of the adrenaline running through your system. You might feel restless, unable to sit still or sleep. Or, you could feel sleepy, lethargic, and numb which are symptoms of depression. One of my friends also through up a lot and refused to eat, again, symptoms of depression and anxiety.

I read the answers here and apparently they have not had a broken heart. I does hurt and very bad physical and emotionally. Your heart itself is not hurt but the pain you feel inside is real. It is your bodies response to an emotionally hurt, just like your body would hurt when you cut yourself or break a bone. It just takes a lot of meditation and a lot of time. It is true that time heals all wounds, both physical and emotional. Get busy doing something that brought you pleasure before her, keep at it, it will not be easy at first. Bring in friends and family for support, they love you and are there for you. I promise, you will live through this and love again. I PROMISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah. Because are feelings and what's goin' on in our body can have alot to do with each other.
Like, can't sleep, loss of appetite, or too much appetite. Not feeling like doing to many things.
But only to the extent that we let it. So don't let it, ok?
Cause' try lookin' at it this way. How ever much you lose, fitness wise, etc. you will have to work at all over again just to get back.
And leaving a run down appearance can make you feel worse, and invites the busybodies anyway. But don't worry about em'. Nobody really does.
I know it's hard to say, and even harder to hear, but you will heal in time. Don't try to make it happen, just let it happen.
And you really have everything you need right inside of you. We only want to be with someone cause we want to.
Not really because we depend on them, or we think we need them. That is co-dependency.

Yes there is. Try to surround yourself with people who love and care for you. Have some me time. Relax and focus more on yourself. I would also start a journal about the situation. This helps you move on and get your feelings out. Have a positive plan as to how you are going to get through this, you will get through it. I would also recommend that you don't beat yourself up about things. This has already happened and you can't turn back the hands of time. Take care of you. Kina

Depression, lack of energy, lack of will to live, you can get sick. Broken hearts suck, and they do hurt.

I had chest pains, couldn't eat, and felt sick. I also had insomnia, even though I was exhausted.
