Singer and Brother sewing machines are pretty good and I've seen them as low as $68.00.

Singer use to be wonderful but years ago it got bought out. not so good since then. I suggest checking out Sears. The Kenmore line is made buy some of the top of the line (pricey)manufactures.

Brother from Wal-Mart is a good sewing machine. $200.00 or less.
