I feel this will be a really silly question, but ere goes. I've just bought a pair of pebcil pleat curtains and curtain hooks (white plastic). The rail has little loops that can be moved along it, but where does this connect to the curtains, as I can connect the hook to the loop ok, but I'm lost as to how it gets attached to thick band on the curtain itself. Can anyone help or guide me towards a visual demonstration please????

It's difficult to explain without doing a drawing, but here goes.

The 'long' leg of the plastic thing goes through the loops on the curtains. Put them in from the top, and push them till they go upside down. This will then hold them in place and allow you to hang the curtains from the curtain rail.

Hope it's plain enough - I'm shattered today! If all else fails, pop into somewhere like John Lewis and they will explain a lot better than me!

Assuming that your plastic curtain hooks have a long, crescent type, curve with a tighter curve at the end - insert the pointed end of the long curve into the slot in the thick band on the curtain from the bottom of the band with the outside of the curve facing into the curtain, and slide it up and round so that the tight hook catches on the bottom of the band. You should then find that the crescent curves away from the curtain with the point facing the curtain at the bottom of the band.Once you have done this, hold the curtain in front of you with the hooks on the far (window) side of the curtain and insert the pointed end into the front of the hoop on the rail .
It is probably easier to insert all of the hooks into the curtain first, otherwise your arms will get very tired.

Will try to help you. On the inside of the curtains along the top, there is stitched to it the tape. On the tape it is like a running stitch with string through it. The curtain hooks have a straight edge and a curly one to go through the loops on the pole. Push the straight edge into the tape - you will find there are holes made every centimetre or so. You gather the curtains by pulling the string through - make sure you tie it at the ends though otherwise you will pull it straight out.

Hope this helps - if I could draw it for you I would.

How To Use Curtain Hooks

you need to thread each of the plastic hooks in the header tape at the top of each curtain at given distances (depending on the amount of hooks you have) and then hang these hooks onto the loops on your curtain track if you are not sure ask a freindly neighbour to give you a hand as I would

Long nails can be harbingers for bacteria, particularly if they are artificial, but these people are good for scratching and opening those little foil wrapped containers which are so hard to get in to.
