I have ring a gentleman with the surname 'Adamczyk'. Do we have any polish speakers that could give me a clue how to pronounce it, so I don't butcher his name on the phone?

I believe it is pronounced, "a-DAM-chick."

If the guy is Polish, then the first and third answers are correct: ah-DAHM-chik

If the guy is an American, an immigrant from long ago, then his name may have been Americanized to Adam-zik (or not).

There's a hockey player with that name and the announcers pronounce it "adam zik". It's anglicized, but most European names are in North America.

I agree with "Adam-zik" as the proper pronunciation. I checked with my pastor who is Polish and whose last name is Machurczyk, and his is prounounced, by him as Machur-zik.

I agree with the first answer, it's pronounced 'Ah-dahm-chick' , stress on the second syllable.
