Yes.

You need AV cables (Yellow = Video, Red & White = sound).

If they do not plug into the rear of your DVD recorder, there may be a flap at the front to be opened. You're looking for Yellow, Red and White sockets.

Once you are connected, it's just a case of starting the playback on your hi8 camera and record on the DVD deck.

Even an inexpensive deck should allow you to create a menu system if you stop the recordings in the right places.

Just remember that the quality will not get better. It may look better but you're still using the hi8 as the source rather than high quality DV.

Good Luck.

hi8 tapes are recorded in analog format, hence you want a capture card (a television tuner capture card is ideal for novices/amateurs; dazzle capture card & the likes are more beneficial, and are utilized with the help of experts) or a digital converter (least confusing is interior this kind of a digital camcorder). with the gadget you may connect your hi8 camcorder to it then to the computing gadget. open WMmaker or any modifying device and receive the video. putting it to a dvd disc will recommend you want a dvd optical force (burning able; not the ROM ones). in case you dont have a quickly computing gadget, more beneficial get those dvd recorder - it ought to record and burn your videos from hi8 on to dvd (no choose for recording it to the vhs). that's that user-friendly satisfied to be of help

You should be able to accomplish this. You need the av wires (usually red white and yellow) plug them into your camcorder and then directly in the audio/video in port on the dvd recorder.
press play on your camcorder and if it shows on your tv simply hit record on the dvd.

The rate at which the price for DVD recorders has dropped, you are better off buying one and copying them yourself than paying someone to do it.
I would recommend NOT getting one that also has a VCR in it, just something else to break.
