Why do i put people up on a pedestal?

I tend to look up to people who are older than me, I have recently gotten out of relationship with woman 11 years older than me and we don't talk anymore. Now I envy people that get to go for a drink with her, it's mad it's not like she's Keira Knightley or anything she is divorced with 3 kids!!!!

Sounds like you are insecure and looking up to older people because they represent authority and security to you.

The best way to cure it is to find activities that you like to do and become involved in them. If you find your passion, you will become good at it, become a passionate person and it will increase your self-esteem and increase your desirability to others.

Putting people on a pedestal is usually a trait borne of having low self-confidence or low self-esteem. Its easier to build someone else up than yourself. The first thing you have to realize is that the reason people go out with you is because they are saying yes... not just to going out, but they are saying yes to you/because of you. You are who you are, and you deserve to be happy too. Don't think that anyone is that much better than you. Very few people date out of pity or sympathy, they'd rather spend their time with equals. So look back on the good parts of the relationship you had, and remember all of the times that you've smiled together. These are the things you should keep in mind for your next relationship. I think you sound like you just have a heart and don't think the worst of people when it looks like a bad situation. You probably just try to see the best in everybody and that's a good thing because it's positive thinking.
