I think that eventually, with all the scientific discoveries coming about every day, it will be impossible to blindly ignore reality any longer. It may not happen in 25 years, but inside of a few generations, Christianity will have to adapt some more to science or it will die out.

No, because people are more likely to choose the easy path of having their decisions about things made for them. Their bible tells them what they need to know, so why should they put forth the effort to investigate the scientific side?

I think that for a person to be well rounded, they need to not only rely upon their faith in their Bible, but also on the faculities that (their) God gave them. God gave man free will for a reason, so he could make up his own mind and not just take what the Bible says for granted because, after all, men wrote the Bible.

Would you trust your health or disease treatment to scientific reasoning or the beliefs of biblical people? With more and more proof that much of the Bible is the word of uneducated men and not a man who lives in a cloud it. IE: How did Noah get to the Amazon Rain Forest to gather some of the 1 million species of insects and where did he keep them on board the Arc? Some religions don't want their followers to think.

Some of them are already doing it. In my country (Iceland) most of the population is Christian, and if I remember right about 95% of the population believes in the evolution. People who are not too fundamental to at least learn about science don't seem to have a hard time accepting science as the truth while still believing in the Christian God. Maybe in a few decades the U.S. will catch up with Europe on this.

The studies carried out by theists and non theists over a period of seventy years link atheism to higher intelligence. Considering that IQ's will not vary that much over twenty-five years, I expect that the number of atheists will remain stagnant. However, I suspect the number of theists who lapse from their religion due to secularization will increase. Church attendance is definitely dwindling in eastern Europe as well as the US. I think that Christianity and religion has much less relevance in the age of science. While many people declare a religion, they are religious in name only. I think that most people live their lives on the basis of practicality regardless of their proclaimed religious affiliation. And while science, anthropology, and archeology blow holes in the Bible, the hardcore religious turn a "deaf" mind to them. I tend to think they will always be with us. The US definitely has a minds-off (rather than hands off) attitude towards the critical analysis of religion.

Scientific reasoning and the Bible are not necessarily exclusive of one another...it depends on your interpretation. Speaking as someone who interprets the Bible rather like a long fable, I believe religion will always play a part in our culture, just as it has for thousands of years. Hopefully, though, more people will come to realize that believing in a deity and believing in science at the same time is very possible.

Oh, you didn't know? We're in the second coming of Dark Ages, where technology is frowned upon and learning is a sin and thinking for yourself is unheard of! Christians will never change their ways until Christ comes back, to which they will rub it in our faces for all eternity. But, that won't happen within the next 25 years. I doubt it will ever happen. Christianity will either be the first religion to fall or will be the only religion left, much like America as a government. And Christians will never ever ever ever use anything but the bible as reference. God forbid (no pun intended).

They're already starting to. But I give the religion itself 100 years before it is discarded entirely...

We have only truly begun scientific study within the last 200 years or so. That's a lot of catching up to do, after 2000 years of ingrained religious persecution. But our knowledge is gaining exponentially at this point. Religion is circling the drain as we speak...

I don't think so. It is a nice thought, but indoctrination from childhood, for some is hard to break away from, no matter what proof we have to the contrary.
I do feel that more people are Atheist, we can only hope we can conquer the ignorance.
