food poisioning is caused by an adverse reaction to something in the food (usually exotoxins, which are basically bacteria's poop), the bacteria dont invade or colonize the body. its usually pretty temporary and lasts hours to maybe a day or 2 with the exception of botulism. foodborne infection means that bacteria like s. typhoid or a virus like hepatitis A actually invaded the body and are causing an infection

I am not a specialist or anything, but I can read. Food poisoning can occur from certain foods that were not prepared properly, or handled in the correct manner.

Food borne infections are probably caused by foods that are out dated or expired that pollute and contaminate other foods which will lead to food poisoning.

These are my thoughts, try contacting a health consultant or someone in the food industry.

Food poisoning is due to either food infection or chemicals.So food infection is one of the causes of food poisoning.
