I disagree with many of their beliefs but I don't have "major" issues with them....I just let them be....as should others that don't agree with each other.

Marriage for clergy & birth control. Re other comments: The church does now recognize divorce. Also, Catholicism must have something going for it as there are more Catholics than the other Christian religions combined.

The older I get the more I agree with most of the issues; e.g. sex before marriage. Sex has become so casual now that its importance between a husband & wife seems to be diminished. There has been a major decline in morality & I believe it began with the advent of the pill. Free sex, illigitimate births, increase in adultery & provacative clothes (how teenage boys can focus on their classes nowadays is beyond me). Fewer people are getting married. Why should they?

It is interesting to read some of the issues that people have with the Catholic Church:

Birth control - ALL Christian christian churches prohibited birth control at one time. The Catholic Church is the only one which sticks to its original teaching. The others have bowed to popular opinion.

Celibate priests and nuns - Please read 1 Cor : "Are you free from a wife? Do not seek marriage. . . those who marry will have worldly troubles, and I would spare you that. . . . The unmarried man is anxious about the affairs of the Lord, how to please the Lord; but the married man is anxious about worldly affairs, how to please his wife, and his interests are divided. And the unmarried woman or girl is anxious about the affairs of the Lord, how to be holy in body and spirit; but the married woman is anxious about worldly affairs, how to please her husband" (7:27-34).

Both Jesus and St. Paul were unmarried.

Prayer to Mary and saints - if you ask friends and family to pray for you, then you should have no issues with this. We include Mary and the saints as part of our circle of family and friends.

Confession to a priest. Read John 20: 21-23 and you will see that Jesus gave His disciples the power and authority to forgive and retain sins. This power and authority is handed down to priests.

No salvation outside of Catholic Church - all Christians are members of the catholic Church. the Catholic Church also believes that those who seek God with a sincere heart may saved.

Worship of idols - not done. we do not pray TO statues, but to the person who the statue is a representation of. Additionally, we worship only God, not Mary and the saints.

Persecution of heretics - It was the church that found people guilty of the sin of heresy, but the civil authorities were the executioners.

There is no ":middle man" between us and God. Catholics pray to saints AND to God, though the type of prayer is very different for the two.

Divorce - Matrimony is a sacred union betwen a man, a woman, and God that is entended to last "until death do us part".. If a man is abusing a woman, the woman is encouraged to leave.

You do not see Bibles in a Catholic Church because at Mass, we LISTEN to Scripture, much in the same way that the early Christians listened to the Word of God.

My issue with the Catholic church is that they judge people and we are not supposed to do that. For one thing, they don't recognize divorce. My mother was catholic and when my father beat her and she divorced him, the church turned their back on her. Another issue is that they don't protect the children. I don't understand how so many priests could be transfered when they should have been jailed. The most important issue I have with the catholic church is that they are allowing gays in the priesthood. This is an abomination of GOD and it should never be accepted. Biggest issue with the catholic church is they pray to Mary. There is only one GOD and we pray to GOD in Jesus name. Amen.

convinced, the Church rather is adverse to sex earlier marriage, for distinctive motives. lack of money is a very undesirable excuse to no longer get married. It doesn't value plenty to get married -- only a wedding ceremony license, which isn't severe priced. What expenditures plenty is a significant wedding ceremony, in spite of the undeniable fact that the vast wedding ceremony is non-obligatory. So both those who're in love can merely have an undemanding, quiet, inexpensive wedding ceremony and dodge sin. If one or both do not opt for to get married, how are you going to likely say they're dedicated? If one or both refuses to get married, it extremely is a lack of dedication, and both could no longer be having sex to commence with. extraordinarily if one needs to marry and the different doesn't. that type of disparity is rather risky in a relationship. I observe you stated you may make like to a lady, no longer YOUR lady or the girl. you're wondering inclusive of your hormones, dude, and really deliberating females as your own inner most sex social gathering. it is disrespectful in the route of girls. What you want to do is keep your pants zipped and strengthen up! once you're mature sufficient to work out more beneficial in a lady than a threat to get your jollies and once you're mature sufficient to position the start of a sturdy, sturdy relationship it extremely is sturdy on all ranges (intellectually, emotionally and spiritually), you'd be waiting for marriage and prepared for sex (marriage first!). if you're not any further waiting for marriage, you're not any further waiting for sex. you want self administration, and that is between the culmination of the Holy Spirit that has been obtainable to you because you've been shown. guy up, dude.

No, sex before marriage is sinful even if you love each other. Being in love doesn't alter the reality that the sexual act is outside of marriage, marriage being the ceremonial union of a man and woman in matrimony. Sex outside of marriage is called fornication and the Bible definitely condemns it.

Matt. 15:19-20, "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. 20 “These are the things which defile the man."
Acts 15:29, "...that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols and from blood and from things strangled and from fornication; if you keep yourselves free from such things, you will do well."
1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
Heb. 13:4, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge."
So, very clearly fornication is condemned in scripture and there is no provision for it being acceptable just because someone loves each other. Besides if this couple is so much in love, then why don't they carry out what true love is and marry each other? True love is when you put another person first, not when you take from them. For a man and woman to engage in fornication is to declare that such love for the other person is more self centered, than other centered.

The Trinity, transubstantiation, perpetual virginity of Mary, no salvation outside the Church, worship of idols, persecution of heretics during the Middle Ages, the legitimacy of the Papacy, exclusivity, the non-acceptance of the Qur'an, Bhagavad-Gita and other Holy Books on a par with the Bible.

Their policies on no sex before marriage and homosexuality seem okay.

I think they pray to false gods and say hail mary's and Mary wasnt a God... and I think the rosary beeds are kind of ridiculous too.. Nothing in the bible about either of those... I think it's strange that when going to a catholic church no-one has to open their bibles in some chuches they don't even have bibles for you.
I think that in the bible it says to name and sight your sin but it doesn't say ... to a priest. You go directly to God to name them.
I think that Catholics have alot of guilt because there is so much condeming of self and they are taught they must be good to go to heaven. Not all of course but alot of them. I'm just feeling a little sorry for all they go through that is unneccessary.

Priests and the Virgin Mary

I don't like that there has to be a "Middle Man" between us and God... the whole reason that Jesus came to Earth was so that we could have a personal relationship with God...

Jesus's mother was a good woman, I believe, but I don't believe she was a sinless person, or some one to worship... only God is worthy of worship....

oh and the whole Inquisition thing....

(No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!!!!)
