I like the occasional baptism myself but most of the time I just shower.

Baptism occurs shortly after birth; it's something we have no control over.

I personally prefer a bath, although I only take them to warm up or for relaxation.

Sprinkle in some scented beads or bubble bath, turn the lights down low ...... heaven! Oops, is it ok that I said heaven? Oh yeah, it is.

Is it the belief that validates the ordinance or the divine power?

Let me put it another way.

If a minister or priest was less than perfect that morning (say he got angry at something and let a curse slip out), does that mean that whatever he does in the name of God for the rest of that day is invalid?

The man performing the baptism is doing it in the name of God and by his power. This means that the ordinance is valid. Regardless of what the priest or minister had done or is thinking about at the time, he is only the vessel and not the source. Lets face it, none of us is perfect.

Now if an atheist suffered himself to be baptized, the ordinance is still valid. But its up to the person's faith to accept the baptism.

If you were baptized as an infant, then your parents may not have fulfilled their responsibility to bring you up in a Christian home, and the congregation that observed your baptism may not have mentored you properly. Or you simply may have been one of the reprobate (hope that's not the case). But your baptism most definitely would have been valid.

its interesting that you compare baptism with bath, the jews practiced the mitzvah of immersing into a barrel of pure water as cleansing oneself of unrighteousness, the same kind of uncleanness that people take a shower for smelling Like they just had SEX. in fact the micvah is a barrel of water to take a bath in as well to clean away the nocturnal emmission. But that is tradition. a man is unclean if he has a nocturnal until he bathes and changes his clothes.

Yes, kinda, but ceremonially in reverse. It would be like a backwards shower. When you shower-you wash dirt off and down the drain it goes. But, the reverse would be -you get in the shower and all the crap comes up out of the drain and get all over you and then you get out and dress. Backwards.

An atheist's baptism is standing naked in the rain.

To you it is a meaningless gesture no matter what you do.
You need a Holy Spirit bath first to get rid of all the sin stains in your life.
