I have never traveled by plane before. Can someone please describe each step from arriving at the airport to security to getting on plane to the final step of take off? I would like to know what to expect, step by step.

1. Arrive at the airport
2. Go to the check in counter with your ticket and bag(s)
3. The person at the counter will check your ticket and match it with your ID card(or passport) and take your bag(s) and put it on a rolling thing that will take it(them) to an area of the building where they will be x-rayed and readied for puttiing on the plane that is going to YOUR particular destination.
4) You will then be given a gate number and you will proceed t tdhe gate number that you are assigned..
5) Just prior to going to the gate number, you will pass thru a custom and security check... putting your carry on bag in a machine that will xray it.... then
6) you will pick up your hand carry on after it has been xrayed and you will proceed to the gate number that you were assigned.\
7) At the gate number, there will be many seats.. You will sit there until the person goes to the desk at that particular gate and announces the departure of your particular flight
8) When announced, you will take your ticket, carry on bag, and ID(and/or passport) and show it(if asked) again by the person who will take your ticket and then you board the airplane and go to the seat assignment that is noted on your ticket
9) Then you sit down and wait for them to give you a small bag of peanuts

Arrive at the airport - make sure you to the Departures section either International or Domestic, depending on where you are going. Arrive hours early.

Check in, show ID, check you bag(s). Get security checks, show ID and be prepared to get screened. Go to your gate. Wait. Board the plane. Take off.
