Missed school yesterday claiming sick. If they have an unexcused absence they'll suspened. I would rather punish them my own way instead of getting their education taken away. Could someone please help me with an excuse besides sick..

They don't realize how important an education is for them right now. An unexpected family emergency may work, but then you are teaching them that being dishonest is the way to go. Tell them that you will help them this time but next time they are on their own ,and if they get kicked out of school then they will have to find full time jobs to pay the bills around the house.( including the mortgage or rent) Show them how much it costs to live and that minimum wage won't cut it, because then they won't be able to spend all their money on clothes, fast food etc. To Punish a 17 year old is hard also the friend should be told that if she isn't in school then she may not be in YOUR home for much longer. You are already helping her by allowing her to stay there.

First of all are you sure they would be suspended or is this just the word according to your daughter (who might be feeding you a line to get out of trouble). Ask to see the school attendance policy (especially if your daughter has a school handbook or if it is online). If indeed she will be suspended for this unexcused absence, I imagine it is because this is not the first unexcused absence (probably ultiple ones). Do you know about these or is she feeding you this line to keep you from finding out about other days she cut school. Also, what about her friend's parent(s)? I am sure the school would not accept a note from you for the friend's absence. Sounds to me that this might be the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back with your daughter cutting school and she is trying to keep you and the school from talking together. I suggest you contact her guidance counselor.

Alien invasion, they had you tied up and were examining you, poke yourself in the stomach with a fork, this will be where they inserted the probes. They were small and gray with 3 fingers on each hand and had large heads.
They also said they had called your school telepathically and arranged for you to take off that day. They also said if they suspend you they will attack the school and make the cafeteria food taste like crap. They will also be back to do this several more times this year and the threat related to food will apply to future absences, this research they are doing on humans will eventually help them create a better food source for them, lousy students taste best they have decided. They are suspended for m issing one day???? WOW...that is strict. If you are going to lie about why they were absent, you should just say sick. If you are really against that excuse then, say that there was a death in the family or a family emergency.

No, don't take their side. let them get punished. This is the only way they will learn. If you cover for them now, they will expect someone or the other to cover for them in future too.

IF THE SCHOOL IS A CONSIDERATE ONE, THEY SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT THEY WERE SICK. TRY TO PLEAD WITH THEM AND THEY WOULD BE FOFGIVEN. AS FOR THE CHILDREN I THINK YOU PUNISH THEM TO MAKE THEM UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY HAVE DONE IS WRONG.
