Just take a look at St Peter's story. He was not merely a disciple of Our Lord -- he was one of the close, intimate circle chosen to be with Him at important moments, such as the Transfiguration. He was the first to whom the Holy Spirit revealed the identity of the Messiah. Yet Satan really got at him (Jesus had warned him about this and had prayed for him, that his courage should not fail) and he denied the Lord. He must have felt that his behaviour put him beyond the pale. Yet he was given a chance in that beautiful final chapter of St John's Gospel to undo, as it were, the effect of his three denials by making three statements of faith. Many of us let the Lord down, but He won't reject us if we come to him in repentance. Don't listen to Satan's lies if he is telling you that you are beyond hope. Look instead to Jesus, Who is eager to welcome you back. The whole history of the people of Israel is of backsliding and repentance. Our God is a God of forgiveness and love. I recommend Psalm 51 as a good starting point.

Good question. Take what I'm saying with a grain of salt. I was raised Southern Baptist, but I have had enough spiritual crises in my life such that my faith is tested and genuinely owned. That said . . .

If you refer to Matthew 12.31 and Mark 3.22, where it says blasphemy of the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, these words are being said against those who were attributing the healing works of the Holy Spirit to demonic power. Thus, how can such a person be saved if he will not be open to the leadings of the Holy Spirit? The sin in question is a sin of perpetual disbelief.

The Bible's teachings indicate that a person cannot "oops - I lost my salvation." Even after a person is saved, while we reside on earth, we're still not 100% perfect. Being angry with God is nothing to be ashamed of. The Bible says, in your anger do not sin. You can't hide from God that you're angry, so just be honest with Him, and humble. Remember, He's God.

In 2 Samuel 6, one of David's friends touched the ark and died. David was angry, even though he was (and is) a man after God's own heart.

The Bible says in Psalm 51, "A broken and contrite heart, O Lord, You will not despise" (again, David). As the old hymn states, "Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save."

Certainly there is every hope of Jesus. All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men on Christ's own authority.

Remember Christ Jesus came into the world for the very purpose of saving sinners and, if I may say so, for saving you.

Even logic will tell us that He will not have gone through such immense suffering to be put off so lightly.

Remember too that He promises that all who come to Him, He will in no wise cast out. Just keep going to Him, His word is true and cannot be broken.

The Devil may try to deceive you but use the Bible to defeat him. It's called the sword of the Spirit in Ephesians 6, God's word is truth, John 17/17 and if you continue in it, it will make you free, John 8/31-32

There is always hope!

My understanding is that the 'unforgiveable sin' of grieving the Holy Spirit is to refuse to accept God's rescue plan from our selfishness, worked through Jesus' life, death, resurrection and ascension to Heaven.

It is the Holy Spirit who pricks our conscience, points us to Jesus and empowers us to live God's way - continually ignoring someone will result in grieving them. If you turn around and start listening again, God stands with open arms to welcome you home. The joy will return!

Once you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior and have received the Holy Spirit you are now under the law of grace. You do not loose your salvation. However, you do need to get right with God by asking him to forgive you and repenting of this sin.

I believe that would be impossible for a true believer whom God has sent His Holy Spirit, to do. All hope is through Jesus. He is the door, the key, the light....so, yes, all things are possible through Him.

I believe if you truly blaspheme God, you won't want Jesus, and as you said, there is no hope. Don't confuse this with grieving the Holy Spirit.

God is more patient from that. Basically if you still have a desire for God and forgiveness, then He hasn't left you and will forgive you.

Don't worry. Been there before too. Worried about driving God away. He's so patient though.

Much love. Hope it helps.

God forgives you, Jesus loves you. Have a cup of coffee and a piece of chocolate, you need to take a few deep breaths.
