Like all holidays, Christmas is what you make of it. My kids are certainly aware that Christmas has religious meaning, and they also know that Easter is the most important Christian holiday.

Capitalism is a good thing, too. If some others choose to make others happy, help the poor, etc. at a time coinciding with an important holiday, I see no problem with that.

Christmas is more than a religious holiday, and far more than capitalism. If children do not know these things, then the parents are to blame.

The reason children do not know the religious meaning behind Christmas is because of asshole groups like the ACLU and other assorted liberals who will do anything to quash the public use of the word "Christmas"

If you know of any children that does not know the meaning of Christmas, tell them. Be expecting a lawsuit though because of the anti-God people in this world like the ACLU which would back up the Devil instead of Christ.

YES!

a greedy show for a greedy people.

that's why not one of them will ever spend a "christmas" with the intent of having NO gift giving. instead each year it is required that you "out-do" yourself or someone else from last year. i have challenged people in the past, and i'll add it here, to spend this christmas without gifts. neither give, nor receive any. give that 2 years and christmas will surely disintegrate.

Oh yea. Thats true. I wuould say the same about the adults. Do you want to tell them or should i? ok i will do it. Christmas is a pagan holiday. Got nothing to do with Christ. The 12 deciples didnt celebrate it.

i totally agree with you! it's all about the presents. most kids don't understand that it's not what you get, it's the joy of giving. my son and i were talking the other day and i asked him what Christmas means and he told me, "it a special day to spend with your family. that it's the day Jesus was born and that's why we give gifts to people." i was so proud of my little man. he's 8 and has a better understanding of things than most adults.
