Truth is fact. It is not based upon opinion or preference. It is not changed by circumstances or situations.
It does not have to be flattered and it is not moved by insult.
It is not a philosophy, a belief or an idea. It is what it is in spite of these things.

The truth is alot of things. To me the truth is something that is right. Something that is not a lie. Many people define truth as many things but theres only one truth out there. The truth u get when u look someone in the eye not laughing and tells u something without making faces or hesitating to say something. I stutter so I'm not believed even tho i tell the truth but some people can sit there and lie in ur face.

let me ask you one--if you and I disagree on truth, or if I disagree with anyone who already answered (and I do)----will you say each person has their own "truth" and its all relative?
or is there a Truth. capital T?
if there was one--do you think you could handle it? like that song...
"If TRUTH had a face
What would it look like?
And would you want to see
If seeing meant that you would have to believe
In things like heaven and in Jesus and the saints and all the prophets...."
to be fair, you asked for my truth.
well, its Jesus.
do I get all the stuff in the Bible? no
do I agree with every demonination? no
do I worry about how imperfect humans are failing to convery Jesus's love (that picked a prostitute up and saved a murderer)? yes.
but there you have it!
Merry Christ's mass!

I would have to challenge "ccttcc 1"s assessment of truth, because the truth is that one minute is 60 seconds long - and the truth is that when your child is missing, one minute is only 10 seconds long - and the truth is when you are in the doctors office waiting to hear if it's cancer one minute is 120 seconds long.
So my assessment of what truth is would be that truth is that thing that you know as well as you know your own heartbeat. Whatever that thing is lol

Wow. I like your question. I think the truth is what you believe in not what others say. If something happens then you should tell what really went on. That is what the truth is.

Same question Jesus asked Pontious Pilate during his trial, "what is truth?"
Only Jesus knows, everyone else lies.
Government lies, Santa claus is a lie, people tell you things you want to hear instead of what the truth really is.
False images, just like the movies.

God, the one Creator of all things, is the Eternal Truth.
Baha'u'llah, the Manifestation of God for this Day, wrote:
"Lauded and glorified is He Who hath called the creation into being. He is the sovereign Truth, the Knower of things unseen."
"Indeed He is a Light which is not followed by darkness and a Truth not overtaken by error."
"Open thine eyes that thou mayest behold this Wronged One shining forth above the horizon of the will of God, the Sovereign, the Truth, the Resplendent. Unstop, then, the ear of thine heart that thou mayest hearken unto the speech of the Divine Lote-Tree that hath been raised up in truth by God, the Almighty, the Beneficent."
"He is indeed the Eternal Truth, the Knower of things unseen."
Of course, as already mentioned, Jesus Christ is the Truth. So is Moses, Krishna, Zoroaster, Buddha, the Bab, Baha'u'llah. They are the pure Mirrors of God, reflecting all His glory, the Mouthpieces of God, the Perfect infallible Messengers of God proclaiming the same truth, embodying the same eternal truth, manifesting the same truth.
Also, the Message of God, the one "changeless Faith of God, eternal in the past, eternal in the future" is the Truth revealed by God through His Manifestations (e.g. Jesus, Baha'u'llah). This truth is manifested in this age through the Baha'i Faith.

The apple Eve and Adam ate from. It is not explained in words. Ones who learn it become sealed to teach it. It is not something a person can give or tell but provoke you in gaining.
I think the story comes from the Talmud but don't quote me. Four Rabbis meet and called the secret name of god. One died,One went mad, One became a heretic, and the last entered in peace and left in peace...
Truth in this arena is in direct conflict with faith BTW.

Truth is the knowledge of the arrangment of items, objects, or ideas correlated to a certain time and/or place.
While it is 'true' that 2+2=4, the truth is that I wrote that at 7:34 am, after checking with my computer clock.
