What is evil? is it within all of us? What are we capable of and under what circumstances?Is God the key?

As a non-Muslim my temper was explosive and moody. As a Muslim, I am still moody, but my temper has become quite calmed.... God is the key for me, because my raw nature is explosve, but Islam has calmed this side of me. I think we re all capable of evil, but controlling onself is always a good option.... instead of fighting... what do you think? Are you evil?

Evil manifests itself in pride. Pride makes us put our own selfish desires ahead of God's will.

Depends on what you mean by evil.

No I dont think humans are evil.

Theyre capable of many atrocities...and that only shows theyre capable of much goodness.

Very rarely tho, you will come across humans who kill, steal and hurt the rest for pure pleasure. That is evil my friend.

On the other hand, if you listen to your personal devil and do not excersice self restraint, you will be a victim to your own doing and perform an evil act, without much intention.

That doesnt make you evil tho..just means youre a weak person who is the pawn in the hands of those who can influence you, including the devil.

Am I evil? No but I can be. And thats only when am pissed and have taken the liberty to be nice to someone over and over and it finally hits the roof on my patience. Theyre dead meat! lol

On a lighter note, congratulations on making such a bold step towards Oneness. May Allah grant you all you desire and lead you to eternal happiness.

Evil is the existence of something that is MOSE or more directly against all things good.
Evil can be within us all, but generally mortal beings dont know how to be Evil. They can choose to do wickedly by degree, and eventually a person will one day become completely and enemy to God.
When pushed into a corner anyone is Likely to KILL in self defense. but this is not evil.
Some people can be ensared and trapped into committing crimes against humanity but, i know it is written that All sins can be forgiven except One.
God is merciful and forgiving as a general rule to those that penitent.
So Yes God is the Key! more correctly the atonement of the saviour is the key! the sacrifice of the lamb by Emmanuel will cleanse us all from what is evil and wicked. If we but desire and choose to bow our knee in humility.
i dont think it matters what religion we choose to follow. what matters in the end is the balance of righteousness and pure faith we attain unto.
I think christianity is blind and therefore cannot obtain perfection without opening their eyes. i think Jews are are a down trodden people, because of reputation and because they too do not understand God they will not know what it means to be chosen even as their lips profess they are chosen. i am pure evil accoring to some nice to others good and evil is subjective there ae things ive done that you may find shocking and disturbing but i dont think they are and you dont need god just calm down i have a temper also but i control it and dont need some deity to do so and whats wrong with fighting?

We are all a result of causes and conditions... our upbringing, our environment, our religions, etc. "Evil" is the result of making bad choices in our behavior, or the "karmic result" of such bad choices. Labeling PEOPLE as "evil" is tricky because it's a mental construct based on our perceptions of someone which may or may not be correct.

The key is learning how to behave ethically in whatever way works for you. Allah and the lovely Q'uran is your "teacher" of how to do things in an ethical manner and how to control whatever thoughts arise that made your temper as it was, and whatever works postively like that is the "key". For me, Buddhism was the key because it taught me HOW to stop seeing things in the world incorrectly that made me angry, sad, etc. and by default, my bad actions are starting to "fall off". Whatever works for the individual, and brings greater good within society is what people should turn to and practice with patience and kindness. I don't expect anyone to adopt Buddhism because it's what works for me and I don't disrespect anyone else's faith if they get a good result either... much respect, patience and kindness.

evil is not ugly or bad looking... evil is everything pretty u can c or realize.... evil is handless these days... he's not driving us to do the wrong.... we do.... we have much bad ideas to do wrong.... we can lie cheat... kill... fight... don't tell me that it's all coming back to evil....
evil my friend could b the old cute man beside u on the metro... or the pretty young woman next door.... he's the music u hear.... the poem u read....
