Raw hide bones are horrible for dogs, regardless on what anyone says. The reasons being
1. they are very hard for dogs to digest, which means they cant poop them out at times, this is not only painful for them, but not so fun for you when you have to pull it out of your dogs rectum because its stuck.
2. dogs generally get nasty over raw hide bones
3. they are chemically washed in order to remove the hair from them.
4. Dogs can easily choke on these things, and should be supervised if you are going to give them to them.

My vet told me not to give my dog raw hide. They can chew on them to the point where they get soft, and can swallow large chunks at a time. If too big or long, they can become stuck. He told me of one case where they pulled a 9 inch long piece of rawhide out of a dog. If you do decide to give you dog raw hide, be sure you supervise.
As mentioned above, T-bone's are a better option.

Definitely. Raw Hide bones are great for your pup's teeth and gums, and can even improve their breath. Not to mention the hours of entertainment it gives your dog. It is recommended that you stick with the plain old white rawhide bones - the fancy flavored ones can irritate some dog's stomachs, and ruin carpet!

If you mean "eat" as in swallowing it.........no. Rawhide can actually kill your dog,as pieces can lodge in their throat. If you MUST give your dog rawhide bones/chews,please supervise your dog at all times. Remove any pieces that he/she chews off. NEVER give rawhide when your dog is unsupervised.I almost lost one of my dogs by not supervising. A large piece got stuck in his throat, which he was unable to cough up. He was unable to breath, and the offending piece of rawhide had to be removed with a pair of pliers!! I now never give them! Many people do not realise the dangers of rawhide, please be aware.

Rawhides are really not great for dogs. There have been many cases of dogs managing to swallow rawhides, and then having bowel obstructions from them. I'd suggest something more digestible, like bully sticks.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do NOT give your dog rawhides. EW. they are HORRIBLE for dogs. they can not digest them correctly, and also they get sticky and when they are smaller your dog may try to swallow them and choke. it has happened before. do a yahoo search on the dangers of rawhide. PLEASE.
you can get "bully sticks" at petsmart, they smell though - so outside treats! - also real raw bones are good for dogs. :)
