Feed him protein through eggs, beans, etc. Eventually he'll grow out it but there really isn't any reason to force him to other meats if he can get his protein elsewhere.

At 7 years old a child pretty much knows what he does and does not like to eat. It may not be that he doesn't like any other meat, just that he really likes ham and wants only to eat that. Whatever you do, don't force your child to eat something that he doesn't want to eat. That will make the situation worse. He could just be going through a phase that will soon end, or maybe there is a particular reason that he only wants to eat ham. There are many possibilities. Just encourage him to eat plenty of other foods that will give him his protein that he needs. Peanut butter is a great source. Talk to him and find out what other foods he would possibly want to eat. Let him be a part of the decision making when it comes to dinner, just explain that you cannot have ham everyday, but would love for him to help you create some good meals to eat. Kids should always be included in the decision of what is being eaten at home. Kids don't get alot of choices in their lives when they are young, let them know that they do matter but letting them make a few decisions every now and then.

There is really no reason he needs to eat other types of meat. My husband does not like chicken or really any poultry. Don't let your son dictate the menu, just make sure that you offer him a well balanced meal and if he doesn't want beef or poultry then don't make him eat it. We often have meals that don't even include any meat. If you just feel like he must have meat, then offer him lunch meat (ham) and tell him he can either eat that or eat what everyone else is having.

My son was the same way. I didn't buy it for a really long time and kept making everything but! He got tired of eating veggies.. and ended up eating other meats. Good luck, I've heard so many complaints but it worked

some kids are lazy and do it cus they have to chew.
give him no alterative to eat anything else hell get hungry and have to give in and then be ok from then on. Or you could introduce him to fish if he genuinly doesnt like meat. Alot of it is routine now and you have to beat him on the battle of the wills contest.

It sounds more like a stage that he is going through. Let him eat ham, and eventaully he will eat something else.

Why? What does it matter? As long as he is getting protein in some form, he is fine. If you force him, or continue to make a "deal" about this....it will always be a "deal". Just let him be...kids tastes change as they get older....as long as you don't create a battle :)

It's probably just a phase. Don't make a big fuss about it... just go along with it for a while. Make sure he's getting the right vitamins.

maybe he doesnt want to - and its not the end of the world suely if he doesnt.
offer alternatives - maybe vegatarian alternatives / fish etc..
provide vitamins if you are worried he is not getting the nutrients - but i wouldnt worry as long as he is gaining weight, eating fruit / veg and carbs
