That was probably 50 years ago, but nowadays women cheat and nothing happens, modern society I say..☺

It's not okay for men to cheat. I think that men seem to forgive eachother for cheating. but women don't forgive them. the thing is, when women cheat, men AND other women get mad. Its really a double standard in our society though.

When men have lots of sex he's a pimp and he gets all sorts of high social status

when women do...shes' a whore and a slut

hmmm

Generally speaking, young girls are thought of as being innocent and pure while young boys are all but expected to be little brats and cause trouble.

Young girls are put on pedestals as they grow up and aren't expected to become someone capable of doing the unthinkable. When they do, it's viewed as a deep scar or blemish in her character.

Since young boys are usually expected to keep doing things wrong as they grow up, it's often times sought at as normal behavior.

Parents on the other hand, act differently and have separate standards on how they deal when their kids when they do something wrong. Boys behaviors are talked about among family and friends, and girls behaviors are usually swept under the rug because they don't want anybody to know about it.

So, when either of them cheat... Women are scrutinized more because of how they were treated as children.

The only thing different about society now verses society of a hundred years ago, is women fought hard to be treated equally, and now... As times have been changing throughout history... Bad things women do isn't simply being swept under the rug anymore.

They wanted accountability and are slowly being held to the same standards they set for men.

Well...I don't forgive men who cheat (whether it be on me or others) and last I checked, I was a member of society.

I don't think it's a matter of "forgiveness" but more "expectation".

"Society" is not as shocked when a man cheats because it kinda is expected -NOT THAT IT'S OK!-Just "expected" becasue men are more closer associated w/being less tactful and more hormone driven......SORRY GUYS!!!
Where as WOMEN are supposed to be a little more "proper"...it's the maternal thing,
The really DUMB thing is....people think the way they do about men...but HELLO.....it takes 2!

Just look at the society that is forgiving them. One that lets people starve, die of curable diseases, pollutes the atmosphere, kills unborn children, places the older generation in nursing homes to keep from dealing with them, but on the other hand, God forbid if we want to listen to phone conversations people are having with people in terrorist supporting countries. Don't worry too much about what this screwed up society thinks. P.S.... This society is run by men, that is why up until recently my insurance company would not pay for my wife's birth control pills, but will pay for Viagra.

I've never heard of either gender having more clout than the next when it comes to cheating. What I have heard though, is the excuses men and women will use for why they cheated. I've heard from the men that it's because their wife wasn't affectionate, or she wasn't interested in sex, and many more lame excuses like that. I've heard from the women that men in their lives treated them poor. Either way, it's never ok. And society doesn't accept it from either gender.

you know, i agree with you, men are dogs and cheating is in there DNA guys praise eachother and call them "the man" but to society if a girl cheats shes conciderd a w****. it dont make sence to me. we can just as much as a male can and if that do the job better and done right, i feel that a male should be considered the same thing as a girl would be, we bear there children and go through the labor to recive them boys and yet they run around miss treating women and using us as objects get off. but if a girl dose that then god forbid. grrrrrrrr that just aint fair on our own behalf ladies things will never chang its just gonna get worse

It's not ok for man to cheat and people do judge - society has changed a lot.... on the other hand a woman can hide it way better so if she gets caught, people supose she's donne that very many times before.... maybe thats why

I think that used to be the case years ago, but feel our society has changed enough that cheating is found unacceptable by either sex. I know of enough marraiges ending when either one cheats, so I would say there is far more balance with that than years ago.

I don't get what you're saying. It is not ok for either to cheat. If men are forgiven more often then there's no one to blame but the women that forgive them.
