Probably safe as the can may have been dented in the process of transportation or goods handling. Actually its the smell of the product that tells you if it is consumable.

Should be fine, as long as there is not a hole inthe can...then air can get in and not only spoil the food but react with the metals.

A note of warning...don;t eat food from dented cans that is acidic...the dent will have damaged the protective coating on the inside of the can...the acid may have reacted with the ,etal that makes the can and contaminated the food.

The only reason dented cans are put on the discount shelf is because the packaging is damaged and most stores have a policy about it. There is nothing phyiscally wrong with the contents, it's just the packaging.

It depends on what's inside the can. If it's just sauce or veggies it's fine, but anything with meat or fish is a huge no! About a year ago there we're two kids who died after eating a can of tuna that they also got for cheap because it was dented!

If the can is dented IN, and there's no holes, then Yes, it's safe to eat the contents.

If the can is puffed OUT, then NO. Don't eat.

Yeah sure the contents are fine, inspect the inside of the can for cracks to the surface of the inside, it is most likely coated with a thin layer of plastic latex material anyway which keeps the thing from contaminating the food.

I bought some tomato paste that was dented and did not see and when I opened it it has mold in it where the dent was. So i do not use dented cans anymore.

No, it isn't considered safe. Dented or bulging cans have always been a warning of botulism. Smart shoppers don't mess with dented or damaged cans.

No because the dent in the can can adjust the pressure within the can and this can fundamentally alter the structure of the average baked bean. You muppet of course you can fcukin eat it. Are you american by any chance?
