That bothers me too and I'm a teenager. I can read it, but I hate when people type like that. Its like they're too lazy to type real words.

Yes, it bothers the hell out of me. For the most highly educated country on the planet it seems half the people can't, or simply don't take the time to, spell out the words correctly. Its a national laziness that seems to be accepted and condoned by Internet users, almost their secret language, so to speak. Wake up America! learn to read and write!

LOL, I am 41 and I do know the abbreviated words (most) and it still bothers me but I guess if you are a teenager this is how it's mostly done and they know it like the back of their hand. Good Luck! :)
