"Honey, we can't chew water because it is what we call a liquid. The thing about liquids is that they always shape the same as whatever they are in. So when we try and chew, it moves really fast to fit the new shape of our mouth, and gets out of the way of our teeth too fast for us to bite it. Milk is a liquid too. The cool thing about liquids is that they slow down when we get them cold enough. That is why you can bite ice cream, which is just frozen milk with sugar and flavoring in it."

In The Form Of A Slushy, You Can Both Drink And Chew Water. However You Can Freeze Water This Is True, You Can Suck And Chew The End Product This Also Is True. However It Is Now Called Ice, Or A Paddle Pop, Sometimes A Snow Cone But That's The Same Kind Of Thing As A Slushy. Non Of Which Are Water Until They Melt Again.

We can't chew the water because it is in a liqiud form.
We chew something to break it into smaller parts and thus making it easier to digest.But, water is alredy in liquid form so we can directly digest it.

Because water is a liquid. It's only a solid when it's frozen and if you chew it you will get a serious cold headache!

it is not solid enough to chew it,you cant chew anything that isnt solid. Like you can chew air can you. Five years old and already thinking about psyhics, you dauther is a genius!

Get a small glass of water and a marshmallow. Explain that the water is called a liquid and the marshmallow is called a solid. Maybe if she can "see" the difference it will help.

good question. tell her that god has given teeth to chew solid things and not to chew the water. steel god has not made that kind of teeth, and if god is planing to give that type of teeth let your daughter get it and chew the water and swollow it.
