a) in order for something to come "after" something else the first would have to cease to exist in some temporal paradigm. for life to come after life it would have to be a second life that came after the first life ended, which would be death.
b) of course, death is the end of life
c) depends on your interpretation of life. after a body dies it can be food for an animal thus nourishing its life and possibly helping the developing embryos, so in a sense, yes. as for the trip to the white lights and heaven and hell, no one knows for sure because no one has been there and back. we can take semi-educated stabs at it, but it's impossible to tell.
d) death can only occur after life, as it is by definition the ending or ceasing of life.
