why? when millions of innocent people are being killed. why not redirect your prayers to asking god to stop killing people. why not ask god to fix the broken limb of an amputee? why not ask god to make the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden known? if you have faith the size of a mustard seed you can move mountains, right? jesus said ask in his name and it will be given, right? well help the lot of us out and start praying the prayers that will cure disease! pray the prayers that will end terrorism! if you don't pray for these things then you either don't believe god controls them, you agree with, and enjoy, their happening, or you don't care about anyone but yourself.

furthermore, if you are praying the good prayers for the diseased and the hungry, it isn't really working very well. either pray more often or something. with as many religious people on this planet we should be nearly done with disease and hunger by now!

so it is arrogant of me to beg god to stop killing people and end the horrors of disease (both causes worthy of an almighty god) but NOT arrogant and "turning god into a lounge magician" to ask that someone get home safely on a plane trip across 2 states?

God creates fear, shame, and all that is detestable then he never has to actually deal with them only we, the mortal and fragile, have to fend for ourselves in trying? that is one of the most counterintuitive ideas i've every heard. besides, how do you know god isn't just waiting for every christian in the world to simply ASK him to stop all of this horror?

1) selfishness.
2) practicality
3) arrogance.

its arrogant and "of little faith" to not trust God for these things to have their purpose and value.
to ask for things of such magnitude and drama is arrogant, thinking that your judgement as to the time, with the pittance of knowlege you have, is above that of God.

Death is part of life. everyone dies.
there is a purpose to things like amputees and such. sure its easy to say when I am in relatively good health, but its a matter of understanding and place.
when it is time, the diseases will be cured, the criminals found, ect.

"end terrorism"? are you KIDDING? I mean in one sense, its a good intention, but in a realism and practicality sense, its just nonsensical "terrorism" is a form of fear, of war, while miss universe wishing for peace on earth is nice... fear, war, and death all have their time and place in the world.

a few ancient phrases for you to consider.

"This Too Shall Pass"
"For everything there is a time and a season"

Well because one thing people tend to overlook is that God is not our slave and He certainly would be if people had their way,nor does He pull Rabbits out of the hat like a stage magician.
God give us all that we need to live and expects us human beings to fix human things like hunger and poverty, to stop hating and making war on each other.
Too many people today opt out of their responsibilites by blaming God and this is just foolish denial.
