We had exactly the same time in September -
Sacre Couer early evening just before dusk, (nuns choir 6.00pm) superb view over Paris once the lights are illuminated. From there go straight to the place of the artists, literally round corner from SC, then walk down steps from there to the Pigalle distriict - Moulin Rouge etc. cheap places to eat
Buy a travel card from airport or any station, can be used on rail, metro and buses- far cheaper than open top buses.
morning went to Eiffel Tower - you can climb the steps to the second floor completely free - then decide whether you want to pay to go up to the top. from there metro to Arc de Triumphe, then metro to Place du Concorde - you can walk here via Champs De L'Eysee if you have the time. From Place de C walk through the gardens to Le Louvre - you need to take photos outside not enough time to go in. Walk to The Opera House, well worth a look in the foyer, then metro to Notre Damme. We had time for 1 hour river trip from here - then straight across the road to the Latin Quarter and loads and loads of places ther to eat.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did Bonsoir and bon voyage

There are tour buses like the red ones you have in London, and I truly recommend them. In a short period of time you are taken all over the city to the main attractions, told the history behind what you are seeing, and if the weather's nasty you can still go from place to place dry and warm...if the weather's nice you sit up top and go OOHHHHHHHHHHHH and AAHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Also since you can get on and off you can see the places that appeal to you most. And best of all it's easy on your budget.
Oui, oui!!
Another hint: the Louvre is amazing but so huge...save it for another visit when you have time. The Musee D'Orsay has world class art and sculpture, and you can visit it and feel you've gotten your shot of culture without spending an entire day. Also this museum has a restaurant in a ballroom that looks expensive, but the food is very good and reasonable in price..

The Louvre, the Sacré Coeur, the Champs Elysées, and the Latin quarter (the Sorbonne, the Panthéon, the Luxembourg park).
In January in paris, there is a big ice rink in the centre of the city, in front of the "hotel de ville", it's great fun. And you HAVE TO go and see the galeries lafayette and the Printemps, 2 shops: there are many lights for christmas, and it's WONDERFUL.
It will be short, but enjoy your trip!

I'd recomment 1 famous site, 1 museum, and 1 cathedral:
Effiel Tower- If you're going to Paris you kinda have to see it. Go in the evening as the sun sets. The lights go all crazy and it looks like it's sparkling.
Musee D'Orsay- My faveorite museum in Paris. It's the perfect size and has some amazing famous pieces (Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, Manet, etc.).
Notre Dame- So beautiful inside. It literally took my breath away.
Have fun!

Amsterdam -> Rotterdam -> Bruxelles -> Luxembourg -> Paris -> Tours -> Toulouse -> Andora la Vella -> Barcelona -> Monaco -> Milano -> Zurich -> Verona -> Padova -> Venice -> Rome. However, 15 days is very little. You will not be able to see anything, you will be just en route 3900 km You will need Eurail Select Pass for 5 countries which costs 394 euros for youth
