Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
"This was my grandmother's apple pie recipe. I have never seen another one quite like it. It will always be my favorite and has won me several first place prizes in local competitions. I hope it becomes one of your favorites as well!"
INGREDIENTS:
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
8 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour to form a paste. Add water, white sugar and brown sugar, and bring to a boil. Reduce temperature and let simmer.
Place the bottom crust in your pan. Fill with apples, mounded slightly. Cover with a lattice work of crust. Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust. Pour slowly so that it does not run off.
Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes, until apples are soft.

If you aren't experienced with making pie dough you may want to buy the ready-made pie crusts that you just unfold.
Check any recipe site for how much sugar and how many apples to use. Also check to see how long to bake it.
Wash, peel, and slice the apples. Add sugar. Put the top crust on. Use a fork to press the edges of the two crusts together. Brush a little milk (and maybe a little sugar) on top. Use a knife to cut three inch-long slits in the center of the top crust to vent it.

If you want to make the crust yourself you could look for a pie crust recipe. The trouble with that is if you're not experienced with it you can have trouble rolling it out in a way that it will be right. It can stick to the rolling pin, be too thick or too thin, etc.

Crunchy Caramel Apple Pie
Ingredients
Pastry for Single-Crust Pie (see below)
1/2 cup sugar
3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
6 cups thinly sliced, peeled cooking apples
1 recipe Crumb Topping
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup caramel ice-cream topping
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Prepare Pastry for Single-Crust Pie. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to a 12-inch circle. Transfer pastry to a 9-inch pie plate. Ease pastry into pie plate, being careful not to stretch pastry. Trim; crimp edge as desired.
2. For filling: In a large mixing bowl stir together sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Add apple slices and gently toss until coated. Transfer apple mixture to the pastry-lined pie plate. Sprinkle with Crumb Topping. To prevent overbrowning, cover edge of pie with foil.
3. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes more or until top is golden. Remove from oven; sprinkle pie with pecans, then drizzle with caramel topping. Cool on a wire rack. Makes 8 servings.
4. Pastry for Single-Crust Pie: In a bowl stir together 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Using a pastry blender, cut in 1/3 cup shortening until pieces are pea-size. Using 4 to 5 tablespoons cold water total, sprinkle 1 tablespoon of water at a time over the flour mixture, tossing with a fork until all of the dough is moistened. Form dough into a ball.
5. Crumb Topping: Stir together 1 cup packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, and 1/2 cup quick-cooking rolled oats. Using a pastry blender, cut in 1/2 cup butter or margarine until the topping mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Topsy-Turvy Apple Pie
Prep Time: 45 min ; Start to Finish: 1 hr 30 min
Makes: 8 servings Nutrition Information
Brown sugar and pecans make the crust special. After baking, the pie gets a twist: it's inverted onto the serving plate, transforming the sticky bottom crust into a moist, nutty topping.
Glaze and Crust
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
1 tablespoon corn syrup
1/2 cup pecan halves
1 box (15 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated pie crusts, softened as directed on box
Filling
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons Pillsbury BEST® all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples (4 medium)
Topping
Whipped cream, if desired
1 . Heat oven to 425°F. In 9-inch glass pie pan, mix brown sugar, butter and corn syrup. Spread evenly in bottom of pan. Arrange pecans over mixture. Make pie crusts as directed on box for Two-Crust Pie, placing bottom crust over mixture in pan.
2 . In small bowl, mix granulated sugar, flour and cinnamon. Arrange half of apple slices in crust-lined pan. Sprinkle with half of sugar mixture. Repeat with remaining apple slices and sugar mixture. Top with second crust; seal edge and flute. Cut slits in several places in top crust.
3 . Place pie on sheet of foil on middle oven rack in oven; bake 8 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F; bake 35 to 45 minutes longer or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown. Immediately run knife around edge of pie to loosen. Place serving plate upside down over pie; turn plate and pan over. Remove pan. Serve warm or cool with whipped cream.
This is a very good pie, hope you injoy it. I get a lot of recipes from www.google.com just put in the name of what you want and search.
