What do you do when you are being sent mixed signals? There is a guy that I like we plan to go for coffee but then he doesn't follow threw. But when we do see each other he seems really happy to be around me to spend time together. He even hugged me in public, I don't know if this is just a friend thing, or if he is interested? But I don't think his parents approve of me. Could this have anything to do with why the hot and cold behavior?

It's hard to say. For sure he likes you, but perhaps he is unsure of how to convey it and maybe he's nervous when it comes to actually meeting you on a "date". If his parents do not approve of you, then yes this explains a lot also.

I wouldn't allow yourself to be a yoyo on a string to him, as this will play with your own emotions and isn't fair on you.

Why don't you be straight up and tell him you really have no idea how he feels and could he let you know if it's just a friend thing or what?

is quite simple actually , you don't need to think at all, all u need to do is just to listen, he is a guy, if he like you and he sure what he want in his life with you be a part of that, he'll tell you.
