You might be surprised by the outcome if you do take him to that race.
I took both my children, 6 and 3 to see Spongebob the Movie in the theater while back. First time for both of them to ever be in a theater and i was worried my 3 year old wouldnt sit still.
Lo and behold, this active boy sat still for the entire movie. I was surprised.
Dont get into that ADD crap just yet, ive read alot of children are on meds and all this crap way too much and really, in the end, dont have it.
Just be thankful the boy is active, thats what kids are. active, not lazy like alot of adults are these days.

More than likely, he wont sit for too long there. If he does go, make sure he has something to protect his ears from all the noise and wears enough sunscreen. I think what he would enjoy more is getting into the pit area to see all the cars up close. Not a lot of people get to do something like that, so taking it that extra step will make it that much more enjoyable.

I am not so concerned about the car thing, but I would have him checked out by a peadiatritian and or a psychologist for attention defficit disorder with or without hyperactivity. This can be sorted out by training him to sit still and to teach him to concerntrate for little longer periods at a time. If caught early, the better, I wish I had this advise for my son, he is an ADHD plus he has a photographic memory. This does not help at all believe me. But so loveable, and he loves cars and bikes - by all means take him to the tracks he'll love it and if you can get him to clamber with observation of course in a car then all the better, he'll never forget that experience. Go ahead and enjoy his enjoyment too.

at some nascar races they have a car that the kids can get in and have their picture taken. that would be a great b-day present for him.

nascar is better to watch on tv. when you see it in person, its still exciting but unless you get the special headphones that lets you hear the play by play its kind of the same thing for hours... plus depending on where you sit, it can be dangerous. things fly into the crowd sometimes.

I think the noise alone is reason NOT to take a three year old. If you are close to an amusement park (like Disneyland), take him there and let him ride in the "car" rides.

Once the race starts he will be glued to it. It's a great idea. Just bring some crunchy snacks to give him if he starts to get bored, believe me crunchy snacks help.

I was shocked when my, at the time, 2.5 year old sat through "Cars." All you can do is try, you may be surprised
