I had the surgery five yrs ago and the only pre op was not to wear my contacts for three days prior. It was scary but really very simple. Altho, I wish that I wouldn't have had it done. I was 43 and only wore lenses for distance but my reading was getting harder to see. I was told by the doctor that my close vision would probably continue to get worse. So now I am wearing lenses again, and my far vision is not like before and my near is awful.
I think there has been a lot of improvements made since I went but I would recommend getting several opinions.

As far as the cost in Britain???????????
