Is this a physical change that occured during the creation of woman thru the utilization of the helix : or was there really a rib used>? If a creator "created "does it not stand to reason that not everything is literal and therefore verbal gymnastics.

your questions are kinda twisted, I think. The creation of Adam and Eve occurred some four thousand years before "the times of Jesus".

The bible clearly says that God used a rib. It was a miraculous event. On what grounds should we accept that as something other than literal? There is none.

Why engage in verbal gymastics except to exalt our fanciful evolutionary ideas above God's word?

god bless

The word translated rib can also mean side.

Genesis 2: 7 the LORD God formed the man [e] from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Note the word "formed" not the word created.

But for Adam [h] no suitable helper was found. 21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs [i] and closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib [j] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. Note the word "made" not created".

There are foot notes for both verses; however, I have only use footnote i Genesis 2:21 Or took part of the man's side.

There are probably hundreds of questions like why did God form Adam out of the ground? Or what did God used from Adam's side to make Eve.

Just because we don;t understand something, does not mean it shouldn't be taken seriously.

Utterly stupid and not even true to the narrative. I've translated the entire Genesis from the Greek and the Hebrew. Worked with the Latin and read all Augustine's commentaries. Virtually everything you say is contradicted within the narrative itself ! Readers, I'll say it for the 100th time, get this work by one of the greatest Semitic scholars ever : The Pentateuch as Narrative By John Sailhamer

There really was a rib used. Since you used the word scientific you might want to study Ivan Panin who was a devout atheist commissioned to disprove the authenticity of the Bible. In his attempt he mathematically proved that only God could have written it...lol The Russian government was not impressed and God is still laughing about it...lol

The spare rib may have been a remnant of God picking things out of his creation, or it may be something that the forces of evolution are currently still at the drawing board with, like the appendix.

God literally took a rib out of Adams side with a little flesh connected to it to create woman That is why a woman when she gets married she is now bone of her husband bone & flesh of her husband , Symboclic speaking, they 2 become one.
