Yes they are in our environment and you can bring them in on your clothing easily. I have indoor cats and treat them with Revolution as it treats everything from fleas to earmites and heartworms.

Yes. Fleas jump. They can jump on to your clothing and you could bring them into the house. All indoor cats should be treated with either a topical flea repellent product, or a pill. Also, if your cat sits on windowsills or lies in front of screen doors there is the possibility that fleas could enter from the openings in the screens. Your cat should be treated with an anti-flea product during flea season which would be from around April until the first heavy frost depending on where you live. If you live in a warmer climate, you will need to treat your cat year 'round.

It's possible, though unlikely to bring them in on clothes, shoes unless you hang around dogs before entering your home.
Just a point of caution if you're a renter...When I moved into my apartment, I already had a flea infestation and didn't know it. They can lie dormant for MONTHS. I hadn't seen a single flea until I brought my cat home a month later, then they were everywhere.
I also recommend Revolution. Even if you don't have a problem with fleas, Revolution prevents against parasites and diseases that even indoor cats can catch.

Yes! Fleas can stay dormant in certain stages of their life cycle for incredibly log periods of time, up to a year according to the website listed below. We had such a bad infestation with our two kitties (they are both totally indoor cats) and I did everything I could think of. We had no success at all with flea bombs, shampoos or collars. The collars actually harmed my cats, they ended up with what looked like chemical burns on the skin of their necks and they lost all the fur where it came into contact with the collars. It was horrible! I finally went to the local pet shop and bought some Advantage drops. We haven't had a problem since then and it's been almost 2 years. I highly recommend it!

Depending on where you live at this time of year. In the Midwest I give my cats Frontline for felines because I have a dog (also treat for fleas) that comes in and out and may carry fleas into the house. Had a house infested with fleas one time and will never go through that again. It gets horrible not just for your critters but for humans as well. People can carry them in to your home because fleas will latch on to anything warm, not necessarily to bite a human but just for the warmth and then lay eggs in your carpet and bedding and feed on your pets. Frontline is a bit expensive but so much worth the money. Good Luck.

Probably not, but it can happen. Fleas can sneak inside on your shoes or clothes, and you know, it only takes one! If you see your cat doing any extra scratching go immediately to your vet and get Revolution flea and tick treatment. It's the best and worth it's cost of about $10 for one application, that lasts about a month. You're not likely to have to apply it again, unless you're so unlucky as to have another flea sneak in your house! It's just not likely to happen though, because fleas don't usually hang on long enough to people to make it to a viable host such as a cat or dog anywhere.

i got my cat patches, from my husbands sister. she was an indoor cat her whole life, never once was outside. this past november, she found out patches had fleas, and gave her to me, because she didnt want to bother taking care of her with fleas. so yeah, its possible for indoor cats to get fleas. even though she's an indoor cat, make sure you have her on flea drops. there are many drops out there that protect against other things too. take care, happy holidays!

It's possible for you to bring them in if you're around someone's pet that has fleas. They come in on your clothing. Also, if you're at someone's house whose animal has fleas and they are allowed to get on the furniture it is possible for flea eggs to stick to your clothing. So it's not impossible for your indoor cat to get fleas, just unlikly.
