Is there any provision in the US constitution that for children being verbally and psychologically abused by their parents? If such child were to leave home, could the parent be made to pay child support? And up to what age?
And what exactly does the law say, what qualifies as psychological and/or verbal abuse?

Psychological abuse is intimidation. (Constant threats, even if they don't do anything) Verbal abuse is name calling. There is nothing in the constitution, but those are the definitions used by social services. You can't collect support for leaving, but you can get out of the house and go to foster care.

You didn't specify your age, but YES, you can talk with a social worker, or you can talk to a trusted adviser/teacher at your school. And you can be removed from your home and placed -- hopefully-- someplace else you'd rather be. My father abused me verbally for YEARS, back before it was called "abuse." He was a tough dad.
CAUTION: IN some states (Washington state) you are usually better off at home. Washington state is NOTORIOUS for VERY ABUSIVE foster care (where you'd likely end up) unless you have good friends who would fight for the right to take you in and nurture you. You'd as likely end up in foster care with foster parents who would abuse you, and foster "dads" in Washington are being arrested left and right for molesting/raping and pimping their foster kids, for which they should be castrated and then shot. The reason I brought up your age is if you are basically old enough to watch out for yourself, you can emancipate yourself. You need to check where you are for how old you need to be to live ON YOUR OWN, or with a roommate you can trust. Then your parents pay you support DIRECTLY TO YOU, and you're "on your own" and legal. I've run into SEVERAL underage teens who are on their own. They say, "I'm underage, but I'm legal", and then they say they are "emancipated." There was the famous case a few years back where the boy LEGALLY DIVORCED his parents for abuse. HE went to live someplace else, they both went to prison. By the way, the LAST people I would contact would be DSHS/CPS. In Washington State, they are perhaps THE MOST CORRUPT PUBLIC AGENCY there is. CPS in Washington State is today being prosecuted for placing kids in homes where they've been molested, raped, and pimped. And a number of kids placed by CPS have been raped and MURDERED. D O N O T G O T O C P S !! They are a NATIONAL SCANDAL!!
Good luck!

contact child welfare services number is in front of phone book. They should be able to answer your questions or at least direct you to someone who can. I'm nto sure about child support to the child left, I doubt it though...i do know about going to court and asking for emancipation which is basically divorcing your parents and that would leave child to make all their own decisions and get away from abuse.

Confide in a responsible person, that you trust.
you will have to learn to deal with it yourself in the end, I'm 34 and my mum is still abusive- it does'nt necesarily go away.
I found that blaming her was wasting my life and my revenge continued my own pain, not good.
Look after you first, and then one day, you will be strong enough as an adult in your own right to face who they are to you and it will all come in to context,

Look in the white pages for a help line and ask them.
If you have no luck with that speak to your local Police.

if this is happening to you, then call social services and tell them, or talk to someone you can trust...don't let this continue...
