Well,
First you can approach parents of previous suicidal children! and see if their business can sponsor your fundraiser! then you can go to Churches and ask them for help and their people, then you can make an event and invite people that are welling to help and make a difference!
Good luck!

First of all---let me say I commend your interests and any efforts you expend in this endeavor !!
Next-- let me suggest that you refer to your undertaking as something like--- Youth Suicide Prevention as opposed to "raising money for youth suicide"---sounds a little scary !!!
When it comes to concerts and benefits-- I have done dozens of them and DO know what I'm talking about with this one !!
When your cause is just and your heart is in it--- you will find people that will be willing to assist and be a part---and with some genuine hard work and effort--- you'll be able to do a major good thing when its all said and done
My advise to you at this point-- since you do not have the experience with this type of thing as of yet---is to locate someone who HAS the experience in dealing with such things--- be it a particular radio station or a concert promoter who has a solid reputation and some history of benefits and the like (stay away from the dudes who are simply into the concert gig for the money-- they will rape the proceeds of the event for themselves-- these guys have no scrupples at all )
Whom ever you decide to run with in the production of this thing-- be content first time out to be the gopher dude and do whatever it is that you have to to ASSIST and LEARN how such things are put together--- so that NEXT TIME OUT---YOU can be the lead dude !!!
Much luck in your endeavors
I have had several acquaintances in my lifetime that have opted for the easy way out for themselves and left tragedy in their wake for the survivors --- and--- it is NOT a good thing ---and must be stopped if at all possible anywhere that it can be !!!
AND---- HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!!!

1 - You need to get some help first to do this. Tough to do on your own.
2 - You can literally blanket the business community with requests for help and sponsorships. It can be difficult to get sponsorships, but plenty of companies and stores will donate things like gift certificates and services that you can raffle off or auction off. Our organization has auctioned teeth whitening services from dentists, tickets to the orchestra, paintings, timeshares, people donate all sorts of things to a good cause.
3 - If you are going to ask for monetary sponsorships from businesses, put together a "sell" package first. Make sure you let the business know what they are getting. You can get good money if you put their name on the event, let them put up banners or have tables at the event, or put their ads in the event program.
4 - Think about using online resources to help out as well. There are a lot of networking sites where you can connect with promoters, band and event management companies that do special deals for non-profit events. You can also bring in professional fundraising help to work on corporate sponsorships.
Best of luck to you.

Contact your local support groups that are already in service. Like a kids helpline, police usually have a drugs/suicide awareness group. Check your local ones already up and working. I am sure they would love to help you and support you as to what would work best because they have already been where you are and no the does and don't. A concert would need to be carefully thought out because you have to know the reference of every song that is going to be played.
And having guest speakers they should be qualified and know about the psychological effects of suicide and the ones that are left behind.
Good luck to you , Annette

Don't try to do it all yourself, get a committee of people who are willing to help you. Find a nonprofit that works on this issue, and tell them you're willing to do all the work to put it together. They'll be happy to work with you, and all the contributions will be tax-deductible, and corporations and others are much more willing to work with a known agency. It will probably take at least six months of work to pull this off.
Good luck to you!

I have done a few fundraisers in my community and brought awareness and funds for our domestic shelters...Your idea is great but I can see a few downfalls with it...My advice would be to start early so any road blocks you encounter you can over come...Its a lot of work but it always pays off...

what we usually do is have a sausage sizzle and soemtimes a big breakfast.
and then we get people to come and eat there and we sell bacon and eggs burgers and sausages on bread.
and then sell raffle tickets as well.
