A horses' name does not necessarily mean anything. Many owners like to use a prefix for their racehorses so that people instantly know who they belong to. An example being the "Hoh" horses (Hoh Mike, Hoh My Darling, Hoh Dear, etc all owned by Mr D Allport).

It may be that the owner of Xyphor Seeker (C J Underwood) has connections to a company called Xyphor (there seems to be a software company of that name).

Alternatively when "Google-ing" the word Xyphor there seem to be a lot of references to computer games, so maybe the name is a nod to that.
