It was supposedly JUDAS, but there is some conjecture about this now. Apparently, a lot of the gospels had been discarded by the Catholic church, as they considered them not fitting or appropriate, or not true gospels. In one of them there is talk of Jesus and Judas having some kind of secret pack and language, and that they had a higher understanding of God than the other disciples. Judas was SUPPOSED to give Jesus up, that was part of the pact. Poor Judas.

Judas gave our High Priest up to the High Priests. Unfortunately, when he realized what he had done, he tried to undo it but it was too late and being unable to live with the guilt of an innocent man who did him nothing but good, he hung himself from a tree.
How many Judas' today will one day realize too late their guilt and rejection of Him and how they've crucified Him afresh?
It is good to note that many Jewish people, including a great company of Levitical priests, gladly gave up their former inheritance to serve the true High Priest and Messiah.
