I constantly play football and so I don't have much fat in my body and started working out since a month, when would be it appropriate to start taking protein, and how long should I?

The rule is that you should eat 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight per day. The most important times to eat protein is morning, before workout, after workout, and before bed. I recommendy buying protein powder. you can get 50 grams of protein per serving. chicken and seafood are the next best. Since your skinny I wouldnt worry about calories so that means you can eat steaks and burgers too. You dont need to take breaks or build up either as its impossible to "overdose." Protein is the building blocks of muscle..the more the better.
