There will be a multipolar world again in the future, limited only by imagination.

In the more immediate future, perhaps there will be Russia, China and India that will come close, but not overtake the US. Later, they will form blocs

For instance, India can form some kind of South Asia bloc, China can form a lose regional alliance with Japan and Korea and perhaps even hijack APEC - i.e. the entire Pacific Rim.

EU could also be a power bloc, and to a much lesser extent, South East Asia plus Australis and NZ could form a bloc. If the Middle East nations pull up their socks enough, they could form another bloc. There is already some sort of association for the Africa continent and the South America continent so that's 2 blocs there.

Thereon, perhaps a United World?

Most likely China. Before it can truly assume the status of sole superpower though, it's going to have to deal with it's "ally", Russia. The alliance with Moscow (aka the Shanghai Cooperation Organization or SCO) will be extremely useful in edging the US out, but it's obvious the Russian elite still harbor their own dreams of empire. As soon as the US is out of the way, the Russo-Chinese alliance is inevitably going to dissolve. If the divorce goes badly, the two may maul each other so severely, neither will be in any shape to become the new hegemon.

In which case, India might actually end up as the new world leader by default....

China will get close in purely economic terms.-- but that does not mean they will surpass America. I personally don't have that high opinon of the Chinese, their central authority, and conformist culture. Hell, China was also wooped by relatively small Vietnam not to long ago, and still does not have the ability to even take the island of Taiwan. Burning oil does not make one a superpower, nor does millions of useless bucktooth soldiers. If it can count as a nation, I think a united European Union has a chance -- they have know how, not chow chow.

India or Brazil. India has plans to being a first world nation by 2020. For those saying China, you have to remember they are very corrupt. It's so bad that China went from being the number one exporter of coal to being the number one importer, because it's now cheaper and less hassle to buy the coal from an outside source. They also lose 10,000 coal miners a year to death. Recently 100 tonnes of chemicals were poured into a river used by 330 million Chinese. The companies dodge their taxes by paying under the table (so they don't know how many employees they really have) and they sell everything from counterfiet watches to medical pills to even elevators. These problems just don't exist as much in India and Brazil.

EVeryone saying China must understand that if China touches anyone Russia and most of the Europian powers will stomp them out. Since China will most likely attack Japan first they will be stomped out before they touch the US.

But all that aside Germany without a doubt. Germany's economy is one of the most stable and has been EXTREMELY rapidly grown since the end of the cold war. But Germany will most likely take France and ally up untill they are readly to become the next Roman Empire

usa isn't in all possibility in decline, however the chinese language economic equipment is starting to be at a huge cost. Their economic equipment is starting to be so at as quickly as by using fact they have been very low on the financial totem pole. think of approximately it. in case you have 10x and that i've got 100x, including one greater would be a 10% enhance for you and easily a a million% enhance for me. i'm no longer nervous. Our economic equipment is wonderful and that i'm delighted that on a regular basis existence is recovering in China; I observed it for myself a pair of months in the past. on the different hand. there's a possibility that the chinese language economic equipment is a Potemkin Village. There banking equipment is a shambles; there are no longer adequate supplies to cover their loans. Environmentally, they seem to be a injury too. enable's no longer even get into human rights! in case you fly over India, you spot a much greater promising infrastructure than in China. i detect it confounding that human beings and Western Europeans are nervous that Asian economies are starting to be better. are not we greater suited off with Toyotas and Nikons? would not the competition be sure greater suited and greater value-effective customer products? In a unfastened industry, the different guy's misery does no longer mean which you prosper.

Oh and plop shut up our mission to take over the world ended years ago.

C M you can shut up as well we saved your ass in WW2 and we saved our own bacon in the Battle of Britain so get your facts right and when we tried to take over the world it almost worked because we had the biggest empire ever.

No nation will overtake the US as the next superpower, I believe that before something like that would happen there would be a WW3 and humanity as we know it would be over.
