My digital cameras are two years old and in bad shape. ( D70 cameras ) My film cameras lasted me 5 to 7 years before I had to have new ones. Why do digital cameras fall apart so fast? ( Note: When I shoot weddings I shoot about 800 pictures per wedding)

Film cameras are generally simple bulky mechanical devices that basically open and shut the shutter and move the film forward or backwards (when winding up the film). Digital cameras have much more smaller components not to mention the heat from the electricity that expands and contracts the metal in the circuit board till there is a short.
