There are no On Line Lotteries. The most common scams used are Free Lotto, which is a credit card scam out of a P.O. box in New York, U.K and Australian Football Lottery, Yahoo Lottery, Microsoft Lottery, Global-Link and Global Lotteries, World Poverty Lotteries and about a hundred others. If your "friend" signed up for Internet surveys that is the most common thread of them getting your "friends" email. This is a Nigerian scam. The Nigerians sit around their Internet cafes by the thousands sending out these scams. Everyone of them has you send them money in one fashion or another before you can collect your winnings. The top song in Nigeria right now is about scamming Americans out of their money. Do not be duped by this scam. I am a retired Police Officer and have investigated Internet scams and fraud for years. The ones asked about on this site are the more simple type.

online lottery winnings received through email are not real. don't believe them. it can only be authentic if you receive a registered mail informing you and contains valid business contact details. also, don't entertain callers with the same modus operandi and asking for your bank account, etc.
