The value is to praise the Lord as a community. To be one with your fellow perishers. There is family there even tho you are not blood related. You get to talk to people of your faith. I use to believe that there was no value in it, but I get to go a lot more then I ever did before. The sense of belonging is very over whelming to me. I enjoy my Sundays now. I look forward to them. I also find that I speak to the Lord more even by myself.

For me the main benefit of attending church is obeying God's will and worshipping Him in fellowship with other Christians. Plus, there's Holy Communion, beautiful music and singing, praising God and praying in harmony with my brothers and sisters in Christ, spiritual exercises (the spirit needs exercise just as much as the body, you know), learning new truths and seeing new perspectives, supporting good works with my money, hearing (usually) a good sermon, hanging out after the service, sipping coffee, seeing some of my neighbors, catching up on the news in the church "family," making plans, taking part in church activities, and so forth. It's just time very well spent, in my opinion. It outweighs any "negative aspects" like a mountain outweighs a soap bubble.

if you plug into a real live holy ghost filled church you will gain the blessed spirit of God in big doses, and that spirit heals and brings life to your soul. So each one of us is a candle power, and when you go to church that is on fire in the spirit for the lord, you gather many candles together and the power is bright and more up lifting and it is here that you receive the revelations from God about why you are even here?!Those are the answers you seek! he has the answers and you get it faster going to church!
on the other hand if they dont teach the word ther and it is just a bunch ofpeople acting religious but dont have the spirit there I am talking about, than it is a waist of time!

Harry, what ever value you put on it! You don't have to attend any church to walk with God! That is a man made creation! I am a pastor and I have not steped in a church in years! Why? I see more traditions of man than I do of God's! I believe church's should
be compared to God's word to see if it should be attended! I have not found any who has past the test!

its subjective, depends on the person and the church community the person joins and how they meets each others needs or what goals they share, for some church can be quite traumatizing as their lifestyle or mate do not fit in with church norms, and can be subject to social ostracizing. also, some churches may provide structure or sense of belonging that some are desperately seeking ,and in a sense helping them while sapping the financial life or free will out of its followers. and others might find santuary and feel fullfilled and devolop a sense of community but become more isolated from the rest of the world as a self righteous bible thumping hypocrites, there are so many endless scenarios ,each individual needs to evaluate his or her needs and lifestyle, as well as the religion they choose and whether or not attending church has more positive or negative value

Hebrews 10:25 says that if we forsake the coming together if we have a place to go, is willful sin. However so few churches actually preach the true gospel that many are starving for the true fellowship. So many are being sustained in these last days by the Lord in their solitude.

church attendance can have negative effects. for instance, where it is done only as a ritual, then it loses its meaning.plus if the church you attend does not teach you the right doctrine, then obviously attending church becomes dangeous because you are exposing yourself to things that are not edifyig.
but in my experience,it is beneficial to attend church. for one, it makes me accountable to someone. if i miss a service, someone will inquire on my whereabouts and this stops me from backsliding. when i am answerable to someone, this builds submission to authority which builds up humility.
though church can be a drudgery, i have found it beneficial when i feel like this, to stand in the gap and intercede for my church services , which in turn helps build up my spiritual muscles.
the devil loves lonely christians, because then he can attack you more easily.plus Christ did say that the church is His body, can you imagine a kidney all on its own on a plate, very dead right?right....
the benefits are way too many.

There are so many benifits to church attendance. One, since we are commanded to keep the sabbath holy, what better way than coming together with fellow disciples of Christ and worshipping and learning? 2nd, we are commanded to partake of the sacrament. It is very important we partake of these emblems and remember Christ. Furthermore, you develop relationships with people of similiar faith who will be able to help you in times of need. There are tons of reasons to go to church but if you need more prompting ask this, what would the Lord have you do? Is what you are doing instead of going to church so in tune with the Lord's wishes?

You cannot be a "Lone Ranger" Christian. We need each other. Even the Lone Ranger had Tonto!
"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." -Hebrews 10:25
We go to chuch to worship and praise He who is worthy of all worship and praise. We go not only to be blessed but to be a blessing to others. We go to "encourage" and to "spur one another on toward love and good deeds." We go because we are the BODY, and the body needs all its members in order for it to function. God has blessed you with certain gifts that others do not have. Others have been blessed with gifts that you don't have. We must come together as the body of Christ so that the church can better serve and glorify Him.
"The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body."
"But God has combined the members of the body."
"If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it."
"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it."
Read 1 Corinthians 12 for a more in-depth understanding.

What is the value of going to church? That question can be extended to, what's the value of praying? what's the value of fasting? They all have one answer - fellowship with God, they get you closer to God. Every action you do here on earth will be weighed to discover whether God's grace is worth falling upon you. So it worth going to church? Absolutely!
