I'd write down the things you believe and what you're looking for in a church. Next, call the churches and talk directly with the pastor and find out exactly what they believe, etc. This will narrow the selection of churches down tremendously. The last step is to actually go to the churches on your list. That is the best way to find a church that is right for you.
Church hopping, checking websites, and asking around, will all help in your search.

I can tell you the worst way to do it.Thats ask anyone on this site anything about Jesus. There are evil , mean spirited people on here whom Satan is using as a tool to discourage new converts. The best thing to do is get in the Word.Figure out what you believe the Bible is saying then "church hop" and find a good church that you agree with.Always read your Bible and don't go to a church that get's too far fetched.God Bless you.

It would be best to know a little about the denomination generally, then pick a couple groups that you might be interested in. Try the big churches, then also the little; see if something feels "right" to you.
If you have further questions, please email. I'll offer specific advice. I have some experience and am open to many different religions for different types of people.

I would think that some research (either of the faith itself) or talking to others about their faith would be a good idea. You could NEVER attend every single faith in the world, let alone every single church. Find the truth first through God's word--then compare the beliefs ot the religions with what God has said.

Visit a church once or twice, then ask to meet with the pastor of that church. Ask him to explain the mission and purpose statements. A good church will have a pastor that will take time to meet with you, and will know what he is teaching in his own church.

I use to church hop, the best way would probably be to do Bible studies, alot of them. Read the Bible and see which churches are in accordance and which are not.
My favourite online Bible study is no longer available, but this one is just as good.

the bible say u will know them by their fruit. look at what they r doing in the community, in their church, their outreaches. if it is a good church with (godly) men and women it will bear much fruit. please be careful about who u sit under (authority) or submit to. make sure they r teaching the word of god and living it and walking it. and manifesting his glory. if u see all this u r in a good spot. dont stop searching till u find it. hard to find but they r out there. and worth the wait!!!!!!!!!! god bless

stay fairly local, and look for some one teaching the Bible, not just quacking about other stuff. The teaching of the word is what you need, not a bunch of traditions of man, so read it your self to see through the fakes, the fakes don't teach much bible. star in John.

Ask about their communion practices. If they have hard liquor, join immediately.
