The only thing I can think when people behave that way is that they are miserable in their daily lives and displace it on their co-workers and subordinates. Kind of like a snow ball rolling down hill. From the sounds of things you are doing what is necessary, and the thing I suggest is for you to try to imagine what it would be like to have a really crappy home-life and you are suffering put downs and abuse, you come to work, and the only thing you recognize as normal is that kind of behaviour, so you foment trouble when there needn't be any.
You are in a tough spot, and short of sucking up to her and being really sweet, quitting may be the only sure fire way to get some satisfaction at work. Good Luck!!!

I have left many jobs where I disliked what my supervisor said and did. What they did and didn't react to. Supervisors don't always look at things the way they should. There are good workers and there are bad workers. Bad workers should be removed and good upheld. I left a job wher emy supervisor let me get harrassed by another co-worker and left another job where my supervisor refused to deal with a person doing worng all the time. It's OK for a supervisor to be friendly but they seem never to know when to get rid of the losers that aren't worth things. I'm a union member and believe that union brother or not that the people that don't have the brains or ability need to be forgoten. They drag down the work place and hinder productiuon. Some people aren't cut out for certain jobs. That's why there are so many fields and jobs. Maybe try asking your boss why he/she doesn't seem to like you. it Could be something stupid. Either way, supervisors need to be set straight and they need to look at the facts not friends.

try to make a lateral transfer to another job in the company, but in a different department. If that doesn't work, talk to HR and ask for mediation. Make sure this is a documented situation with your HR department, as the first person to document a situation is usually the one who wins the battle...

You need to have some type of mediation between you, your boss, and her superiors.

Do everything in your power to make her look good to her superiors. They'll promote her, and she'll be someone else's problem.
