Wow! you need to see a doctor. Sleeping for 20 hours is bad, wrong, and terrible. The human body works best with 8 hours sleep. It's impossible to make up time for lost sleep. And if you are sleeping 20 hours at a time something is wrong and you should see a docotor ASAP

Typically, if you suffer from depression. I hate to say it, but it's part of the depression. When I cycle( I am Bi-Polar) I go through a phase where I sleep. Maybe not 20 hours, but off and on all day. As several other ppl suggested. You really need to talk to a doctor about this. You need meds atleast for a while. GL!

From your posts and questions, it looks like you are going through a crisis and require some hope and support.
Also it looks like you require someone to save you from yourself, and some sort of intervention like the first steps of AA or DA, or Codependents Anonoymous. If you can find a meeting and start talking about stuff in a group setting, you get the group wisdom and its much more personal and relevant than random posts on Yahoo Answers.
Check out a psychologist and discuss what the issues are constructively. Humanistic therapists display unconditional positive regard, empathatic listening and create a safe space for exploration. Within that space you can learn to discover you highest potential in life.
With a direction and purpose in life, and renewed hope and optimism, you will survive.
Best to you!

i study the life of Siddhartha and am therefore a Buddhist devotee. consequently, i am detached from such things as the sleep of others. you can sleep 40 hours without a break. it is your decision. i have nothing to do with it. only you. you must make you own decisions. i will admit that i couldn't sleep 20 hours unless i was taking drugs. is that what you are taking? again, i am detached, and it remains your decision.
