They begin learning well at about 8 weeks. For instance, show dogs are already learning to 'stack' at 8 weeks, and are good at it by 12 weeks..You would be suprised at how much the little guys can learn.
I like to teach in the evenngs, when they are a bit tired, and seem to focus on 'boring' stuff better. Lessons and practices are just the length of TV commercials..
Potty training begins as soon as they begin eating solid food..

Train your dog ASAP. For a puppy, simple tricks are the best. Sit, Lie Down, Stay, Come, and potty training. The reason for this is because puppies do not have a very long attention spans. As the dog gets older you will find that you will be able to teach it more tricks easier.

Whatever age the dog is. Generally from weaning on dogs are receptive to being taught.

I'd wait until after the dog was solid on basic obedience--sit, stay, no, down, come, and all of that before I started on teaching it tricks. Those, along with housebreaking, are the most important things a dog must learn in order to be a decent companion. Give him the skills he needs to be a good pet first and after that teach him whatever you want to.

after they have learned basic commands such as don't potty in the house, no biting, sit, stay, come, and heel and how to walk nicely on a leash. if they can handle these things, because those are the best tricks ever, those are the tricks that help keep your pet in your home and safe. then move onto tricks that are more fun for you. because your dog doesn't care.

about 8 weeks. The younge you train, the more impact it has on the dog. Not that you can't teach an old dog new tricks!

I heard from a Qualified trainer that you should train them as soon as possible and they should finish all levels of training before 1 year and once they become older, they are more non-receiptive to training. I had my dog trained by 4-5th month.

You should begin at a fair young age. I own a Bichon Frise and we began teaching Chin Chin tricks at about 3months. At first we started on simple things like, "come", "peepee", "sit". I find that each breed is different. Chin Chin is fairly intelligent for a dog so learning is something that he enjoys(especially since we train using "treats").

Good luck.

You can teach at any age just make it fun and do not make training sessions too long.
